Selling Tips

 
 

Sailing Deals is the perfect website for all Sailing Schools and Sailing Charter Companies to advertise their sailing deals.

 

To help you make more sales from your listing, we have made a list of some useful points for your guidance:

  1. ALWAYS add a photograph or LOGO. Take the best quality digital photograph that you can but any photo is better than none at all. There is little point in listing a sailing course/charter without photograph of the boat.

  2. Really try to 'sell' your sailing course by making the description as catchy and appealing as you can. Avoid descriptions that are too short or too long.

  3. Pick a good price for your sailing course or charter. Only you can judge the correct price but as a guide you could do a search for similar items and see what they are doing.

  4. List your item for as long and as often as you can.

  5. If you sell a range of sailing courses, list as many as you can. You don't have to do them all at once so you can list them 1 or 2 a day. If customers want to see your items together they can do a search on your company or school name.

  6. Double check the email address you have registered. There is no point in entering a false or incorrect email address as customers will not be able to contact you!

  7. Make sure you have changed your SPAM filter to allow emails from Sailingdeals. Customers will make initial contact with you through our confidential email system. We also send you messages. If you don't do this your emails from us will will be filed in your SPAM folder and you will lose sales!

  8. Use all the selling tools you can to make your item stand out. We have provided you with some optional tools such as 'bold listing', 'featured item' listing and additional photographs which will help your item stand out from the rest. There is a small extra charge for using these tools.

  9. Use our FREE marketing prints to spread the word. All you need to do is print the ones you most like and stick them in your window or distribute them as you see fit.

  10. Keep trying! Remember that there always appears to be more sellers than buyers. If you don't take advantage of our low cost, commission free listings as often as you can then you are reducing your chances of a sale.

  11. Keep your listing up to date. Log into your item account and amend details if necessary. i.e. if the price has changed or if the item is sold. Don't forget, a 'SOLD' sign against your item is a good advert for all your other listed items. Think about an Estate Agents window and how many sold properties there are!

  12. Spread the word! Tell everyone that you list your courses/charters on SailingDeals and get them to check out the site. If they use search engines to find us then search on 'SailingDeals' or 'RYA Sailing Courses'. That way these phrases will rise to the top of the index which in turn will help you.
